every time someone does fanart of my show i feel like that kid who got so excited about receiving a card from maurice sendak that he ate it
I GUESS IT'S TIME TO BRING THIS BACK AGAIN.
Hey, remember that time the massive conference I worked for, that claimed to be trans-inclusive and safe for POC:
- took thousands of dollars from The Daily Wire,
- gave them a massive booth DIRECTLY when you walked into the vendor hall,
- allowed LITERALLY BEN SHAPIRO in with no badge,
- liked tweets harassing me and other attendees when we said this made us feel unsafe at an event that claimed to be inclusive,
- and then, after days of watching me (who again -- THEY PERSONALLY KNEW AND HAD WORKED WITH) and others get attacked by Ben Shapiro's people, libsoftiktok, etc etc etc get death threats and transphobic harassment on twitter, issued a formal apology...
not to us, but literally to Ben Shapiro?
word says The Daily Wire has a booth there again this year.
Fuck Podcast Movement.
if you're there, i hope you give them hell about this. but also, i don't, because you will face horrific repercussions and it ultimately will not change anything. am i glad i spoke up? yes. would i do it again? yes. was it worth it? i really don't know.
the first sign of getting older isn’t greying and getting wrinkles, it’s going “oh. my birthday is in three days” because you keep forgetting
Regarding my last post on the subject:
ok at this point I'm mildly curious so i wanna ask
I was debating pre- and post- smartphone existentialism with an older gentleman today and he stopped part way through and said "Why are you a security guard? Why aren't you teaching this at some college somewhere?" And I didn't know what to say so I went with "Well I used to make art but nobody pays an artist"
I want to invoke thought and wonder and introspection and encourage the passions of every soul I meet forever and ever and dig until I find the glorious potential for creation and experience and joy in every single one but unfortunately I must pay rent and so I stand, a meat shield, an NPC with unlockable dialogue
